Blog week ending 20th September
Y11 Biology Students have been extending their knowledge of the function and anatomy of the kidney. During this practical lesson they were able to accurately identify and then draw and label the key structures of the kidney.
WG6 Art students travelled to the National Portrait Gallery to see the BP Portrait Awards Exhibition 2019. Y12 students used the visit to explore ‘mark-making’ (the methods and techniques to apply paint). The Y13 students are working on their personal projects for their A Level portfolio which necessitates a large amount of independent research. As a result, a number focused on fashion and clothing while others explored meanings and messages or expressive use of colour. The exhibition is running until October 20th and is free to visit. More information can be found here
The PFA Annual General Meeting followed by a Wine & Cheese Social. We would like to invite all parents/carers to the AGM and the Wine and Cheese Social (definitely not to be missed!) which will be held in the School Hall on Wednesday 16th of October from 7pm. This is a great opportunity to come and meet new faces, find out what we do, how we spend the monies we raise and how they can help us make a difference at the school. We are also recruiting for both a PFA Secretary and PFA Treasurer and would invite all parents/carers interested in finding out more to come along on the 16th October or you can get in touch with us directly via the website. For information on the many PFA projects please see our website page here
Our annual Year 7 & 8 Disco. The Year 7 & 8 Disco will take place on the 27th of September, Friday, from 7pm to 9pm at the School Hall. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to get to know their peers and have a fun night out! Teaching staff will be in attendance on the dance floor! Tickets are £5 each. The students are allowed to bring female friends from other schools. Refreshments and LED rings will be available for sale. It is recommended that the students bring smaller denomination notes and change for the refreshments.
