Blog week ending 3rd February
We are delighted to report that the DfE have formalised our working association with Wilmington Grammar School for Boys by awarding MAT status to the two schools. This collaborative working relationship will enable us to achieve the very best for our schools and their students in this new educational landscape. A formal meeting will be announced in due course to outline plans and timelines and to answer any parental questions.
Science club this week, students looked at their own cheek cells using a microscope! Science Club runs on alternate Monday lunchtimes, more details can be found on the Science Noticeboard outside room F8
All Y9 & 10 students sat the Intermediate UK Maths Trust Challenge this week. Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates are awarded for qualifying students. Results are available in four weeks. High achievers automatically qualify for the next round. Good luck everyone!

Mrs Leamon and Mrs O’Neil are leading a Year 7 Spelling Bee, the first round will take place during form time on Friday 3rd February and the final will follow on Friday 10th February – Good luck to all competitors!
During the Beech Assembly Mrs Webb presented an ‘E-Safety’ session which discussed usage and measures to ensure our students remain safe online. We will be supporting ‘Safer Internet Day’ on 7th February. Please look out for an email with further reading on the subject.
Please join us together with the Wilmington Safer Streets Group for the ‘Big Spring Clean’ litter pick on Saturday 4th March. The group have a big impact on improving the school’s local environment and would really appreciate our support.
Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers and a local baker will be providing delicious cakes! Representatives from The Dartford Messenger will be covering the event.
